TRAINING FOR COMPETITION
The Autumn Term & Spring Terms see our training focus centre on Sports Hall Techniques and Cross Country running skills. Mondays are indoors and Thursday outdoors.
Children will be engaged in a variety of games and practices which aim to prepare them for the Devon Sports Hall League and the BREMCO North Devon Cross Country League.
The Summer Term trainng is based at the track on Mondays and Thursdays. The emphasis is on developing some basic competition skills in preparation for regular participation in the monthly Devon Open series and our own club Open meetings such as the Peter Brend Memorial YA Meeting. As soon as athletes reach the age of 11 years they become eligible for selection for the NDAC teams competing in the South West League.
Athletes are required to attend regularly, communicate in advance when they are unable to train and ensure club information, when issued, is taken home. There is a training fee of £1.50 per session.
There will be an expectation that members of this training group will represent NDAC in one or more of the above leagues throughout the year.
Failure to represent the club will mean that their training place will be offered to someone on the waiting lists.
